Croi Neamhspleách Rince Gaeilge - CNRG, we're more than just an organisation; we're a vibrant community of Irish dancing enthusiasts, dedicated to promoting independence, fairness, honesty and excellence in Irish dance. We recognise that everyone is different and celebrate our schools and dancers for being their unique selves. We are an Open Platform organisation, meaning anyone can attend our events, all schools and any independent dancers are welcome. Our competition rules are kept to a minimum in an attempt to accommodate our dancing friends from across organisations resulting in a relaxed atmosphere.

Are you entrigued by our organisation? Would you like to know more? Contact us using the email address entries.cnrg@gmail.com for more information on our events and the focus of the organisation, all in the strictest confidence. If you prefer you can also contact any of our member teachers for their own personal insight and experience of the benefits, for themselves and their school. We are confident they will be more than happy to help. We are an unincorporated association support network, with each school independently beautiful, growing together as 'one team'.

Find Member School Classes

We offer foundational step classes for new dancers, to build confidence and skill. We also offer classes for our Elite dancers where you can refine techniques, with complex rhythms, producing world class athletes. CNRG and it's member schools have something for everyone. Our schools have classes across England and Scotland, with online lessons also available. Accelerate learning with one-on-one customised sessions from our teachers too. 

 

Frequently Asked Questions

What age groups do you cater for?

We welcome dancers of all ages, from children to adults. Our youngest first reelers have been as young as 2 years old. Our oldest entering members ... let's just say they have been around  many years more! We even have generations of family members at our events which is beautiful to see! We aim to provide an age group up to and including age 26 and over for all grades if entries allow. Please see our rules for further information. 

Do I need prior dance experience to join a class?

Absolutely no prior dance experience is necessary for our beginner classes. We provide all the foundational training you'll need. Contact your nearest dance school for more details and information, their contact details and location can be found on our members page. 

How often do classes take place?

Classes are scheduled weekly, with varying times to accommodate different schedules. We recommend checking individual schools timetables for the most up-to-date availability.

Do you allow members to compete outside of CNRG?

Of course! CNRG actively encourage dancers and schools to attend other Open Platform events. We believe there is room for everyone and having the choice can only enhance the dancers dancing experience.
