You Said, We Did...

At CNRG, we welcome your feedback and suggestions. Below are some of these from our friends and members that we have reviewed, some of which we have implemented.

You asked that consideration was given to have the syllabus to run in age order rather than grade.

We discussed this and agreed to trial this plan. Our Heart Of England Championships will run in age order. We may decide to switch the schedules around for different events depending on our event holder's preference.

It was asked that we do away with the same number allocated to a dancer for all events. .

CNRG initially assigned the same numbers to individual dancers for database management. This simplified the tracking of grade movement. Subsequently, this information was shared with all members, and a vote was conducted. It was determined to abandon the use of the same assigned numbers and instead assign random numbers for each event.

It was suggested to consider step down the line for our solos and championships when running at a delay and/or to split the floor space and run two floors.

We understand that if an event runs later than anticipated, switching to a step down the line could help expedite things. Nevertheless, it was determined that dancers in a Championship should have the opportunity to perform their complete dances, consisting of at least two steps according to the scheduled syllabus. This may be considered for solo dances should the need arise. The matter of floor space was also deliberated. While accommodating this adjustment may be feasible for younger age groups and lower grades if the space permits, it was believed that Open dancers (excluding treble reel champs) should be granted ample space and a suitably sized floor to showcase their dancing. This would be decided on an event venue basis. Discussion will always be had with attendees teachers if a change such as this was to be made.

It was suggested to use a results room at our events.

A results room was utilised for the East Midlands Championships and Heart Of England Championships. Overall, they functioned effectively, but there was a concern that the energy during results announcements might be diminished. The decision to continue using results rooms for CNRG events will be based on the venue and specific event.
